The Relief About the Pitch Battle of Sakarya: There are two horses, a youth, a woman and a man on the right side of this composition. These have left their homes at thefirst period of the war due to the enemy assaults and they are on their way to defend the country. Before this trio is a cart in the mud, horses struggling, a man trying to turn the wheel, two women, a standing warrior, and a kneeling ıvoman presenting him a sıvord. This group of'figures represents the period before the Sakarya Battle. Two women and a child sitting on the ground on the left side of this group symbolize our people under enemy occupation ıvaitingfor the Turkish army. Över the people flies an angel of victory presenting a wreath to Commander-in-chief Mustafa Kemal. The woman sitting at the end of the composition symbolizes the motherland, kneeling down young man the victorious Turkish Army of the Pitch Battle of Sakarya while the oak symbolizes victory. The relief is a work of İlhan Koman.
